Affordable Wig Series #1 | DIY Wig Measurements (Customize Mannequin Head)

Hey y'all! :) Today I am showing you how to customize your foam mannequin head in order to create a wig. This is my favorite, tried and true, technique for do-it-yourself head measuring for a custom wig. This method can also be used to measure your head for your clip-ins, closure or frontal placement. This is a super easy, quick and inexpensive way to ensure that your wig is perfectly fitted, snug and remains flat to your head. *Editor’s Note: You’re more than welcome to use a better quality cap - this is just the simplest of the simple, beginner-friendly techniques. I try to make all of my tutorials with beginners in mind. I do have an upcoming wig tutorial (not in this series) that will use a more advanced cap and better quality hair. This is what you would call a “quick weave” or "quick wig" aka “I just need to do something to my hair really quick and I’m not trying to spend a lot of money.” Also, excuse my mannequin head; She’s been through some serious life changes this year. We ask that you respect her privacy as she makes a full recovery. Haha

This tutorial is PART ONE of my THREE PART beginner-friendly wig making series, Affordable Wig Series. PART TWO will teach you how to create the actual wig unit and PART THREE will teach you how to install wig clips. I hope you enjoy this series as much as I enjoyed making it!
